Where Every Crumb Tells a Story

A cottage bakery is a small business that operates from a home kitchen, producing and selling non-hazardous food items like baked goods, jams, and candies. The Rustic Crumb operates  in Kalispell, MT under Montana‘s Local Food Choice Act (SB 199) that allows the sale of homemade food without the same inspections required for commercial kitchens and does not require products to be licensed, permitted, certified, packaged, labeled, or inspected per any official regulations.

We sell at various farmers and pop-up markets across Flathead Valley throughout the year and also accept online orders.  By law, a cottage bakery may only sell direct to consumer through farmers markets, community, church and school events within the state of Montana. Online orders are also permitted under the law but must be delivered to the customer directly and only within the state of Montana. Items may not be sold in retail environments or mailed.

We strive to use locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible to ensure the highest quality and freshness. Our most common locally sourced ingredients are eggs, dairy products, and cherries.

No, we do not offer catering services. However, you may order products for delivery at a designated pick-up spot within Flathead County.
